About discipleship in 2013

Romans 12:2 challenges believers to be “transfomed by the renewing of your mind.”  In 2013 we will be focusing on “The Mind of a Disciple” and transforming our view of discipleship and ministry to that of Christ’s.  An integral part of this process will be...

• Committing to be a regular attendee of an Adult Bible Fellowship class (ABF).  ABF classes are the core of what we do around here.  Check out how you can connect with an ABF class.

• Joining an interactive small group discipleship class offered on Sunday afternoons as well as a ladies class on Wednesday mornings.  Familiarize yourself with these classes and prayerfully consider which you will commit to attend.

• Investigating what your spiritual gifts are.  God made you unique and He has a purpose for your life. God has given you gifts and abilities to serve Him and serve others.  We invite you to embark on an exciting journey as you answer one of life's greatest questions – What On Earth Am I Here For?  Take the Spiritual Gift Survey and begin this journey today. Be sure to email your results to info@orbchurch.org with the email title "Spiritual Gift Survey Results”.

Join Pastor Galen in encouraging Christian men to move from the audience to the army, from affiliated to activated and from lackadaisical to on-fire for God!  Temptation: Standing Strong Against Temptation is a study of the Book of James that will equip men to gain a new perspective on the trials and temptations faced, new tools to help overcome automatic human responses to challenging situations, new actions that produce humility, and flexibility in God's strength.

Join our Pastor’s wife, Lania K., and see how Jesus’ own brother James was transformed from a skeptic to a disciple and learn how a woman in today’s world can put her faith    into action!  Topics in this study include:    joy, hardship and faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer.

We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan! It teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more! Facilitated by Joe and Jill Frazier.

When we survey Scripture we see the wide variety of ways God has reached out to fallen mankind in an attempt to restore a personal relationship disrupted by sin.  In this weekly study,    Ted Gregson discusses one book of the Bible illuminating information that will equip any Christian to skillfully study God’s Word.  This semester’s study will journey from Haggai to Acts.
